So, I wake up at 8:30 after finally sleeping like a baby (I had not slept well since I got here, jet lag obviously) and jump onto my car with my "driver", sounds fancy ey? Not really, just the usual stuff, it is like a taxi but they stay with you for the whole day. This one is costing me around 20 pounds (and I think I got a bad price from the hotel... have I mentioned I cannot bargain?). A nice guy, kind of speaks english, explains to me about the different gods in Hinduism etc. Sure enough today we are visiting a few temples that close to Ubud.
The first one in Ganung Kawi, the stone towers. Amazing place, but then again they all are. I love the way this seems to be a religion that is intermixed with nature. All temples are open, and some of the biggest pretty much in the middle of the jungle...
Here are some pictures...
Look! There is me!! For those who thought I was actually in London hidden in my house...
Look! There is my sister Claudia!!!
I must say the weather is hot as hell, and to access this temple there are 500 steps. Going down was fine, going up.... I had to get myself a bottle of water from one of the very persistent ladies selling stuff at the entrance, who clearly had the upper hand in the negotiation, and clearly gave me a higher price than she would have in any other circunstances.... but then again this was 5000 rupias (yes, as in The Legend of Zelda...), a whopping 25 cents... so, really, am I suppossed to bargain???
About the very persistent people selling you stuff everywhere, I must say in their favour they are nowhere close to the egyptians or the turquish....
